Seaside Therapies, Occupational Therapy for Children and Adolescents
Lori M. Loughlin, OTR
Lori Loughlin is the owner of Seaside Therapies. She has been working in the field of Occupational Therapy since 1997 specializing in the area of pediatrics since 2003. After graduating from Quinnipiac University in 1997 with a Post Baccalaureate Certificate Degree in Occupational Therapy, she spent the next 6 years working on acute care and ICU units at Mt. Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. In 2003, Mrs. Loughlin transitioned into Early Intervention, working directly with children with varied neurologic, developmental, intellectual and physical disabilities from newborn through age 3 within their home settings. In 2009, she moved into the public-school setting working with students from preschool through high school, including life skills programs. She worked in both general education and substantially separate classrooms. She continued expanding her clinical training and professional development by providing direct therapy services to children ages 2-18, working in an outpatient pediatric clinic and in the outpatient pediatric department at Massachusetts General Hospital.
She has years of experience and training, and has actively engaged and participated in IEP and 504 meetings and is well-versed in school-based documentation. Strengths of Mrs. Loughlin’s skills include educating and informing parents on how to help their children incorporate strategies taught into the home.
Mrs. Loughlin opened Seaside Therapies with the goal of providing Occupational Therapy services in a private outpatient setting to children ages 2.9 to 20 years old, as stand-alone services or as additional private practice services to complement school-based therapies. Mrs. Loughlin also believes in the importance of teaching children daily life skills for future independence and success as they progress through their school years.

We are a private pay practice and do not currently accept insurance plan payments. However, some insurance companies may reimburse subscribers for payments made for Occupational Therapy Services provided through licensed and certified OT’s. We can provide an invoice at the end of each session with Occupational Therapy insurance codes for services provided to assist families that are independently seeking reimbursement from their insurance carriers. Please contact your insurance carrier directly to inquire about any reimbursement opportunities.
Do I need a referral to receive private Occupational Therapy?
Since we only accept private pay clients, we do not require a physician referral or prescription, but we may ask for one to keep on file if you have that available.
What ages to you see at Seaside Therapies?
We generally see clients ages 2.9 to 21 years old. Please contact Seaside Therapies if your child is younger than 2.9 years old.
What days and hours do you work?
Because we treat clients in a natural environment with a family centered approach, hours may vary. Weekday hours include before and after school sessions. Please call to discuss specific day appointments.
When do you require payment for services?
We will require payment at the end of each session, however please contact us if you require a different payment schedule and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
What if I need additional service providers for my child?
We are always willing to help provide you with information for other service provider needs including speech and language therapists, behavioral therapists, physical therapists, neuropsychologist, developmental ophthalmologists and more in our area.
What is meant by “natural environment therapy”?
These environments can include services upon appointments in a home setting, community setting, school or after care facility. Providing services in these settings can help reduce the client’s need to generalize and carry over treatments learned in sessions into these environments. Please contact Seaside Therapies directly to inquire further about natural environment therapy services. A session within a client’s home or in a community setting may be available to adolescent clients when we are working on a specific life skill.
Do you accept credit cards?
At this time, we are accepting credit cards, venmo, cash and personal checks. A billing invoice will be available to families at the end of each session.
